Wicklow is a magical place to visit and a short distance from the capital city, Dublin.
June Blake’s Garden
One of the must-visit gardens in Wicklow is June Blake’s Garden in Blessington, Co. Wicklow. Spread over three acres, the gardens were once an expanse of unkempt green field but with a little imagination and a lot of hard work, June has turned this uninspiring field into one of the highlights of a trip to Wicklow. With careful design and considerate planting, the garden is now home to all sorts of wildlife and thrives all year. The gardens wrap around June’s Victorian farmhouse and farm buildings creating an encompassing beautiful green space. A highlight of the year is the annual 7000-strong tulip display in May, which June painstakingly plants every year. The garden is completely organic and an absolute gem in the Garden of Ireland.
