Ireland and the US have had a very special connection for many years. Hundreds of thousands of Irish people emigrated from the starvation of the famine in Ireland between 1845 and 1852 and for many years after. They set up a life in what they saw as the promised land, laying roots and starting their own Irish-American customs leading to a shared history between our two great nations. Ireland has millions of US visitors each year, here to explore their ancestral homeland but with so much to see and do, how do you know where to start? A visit to the garden of Ireland is a must on any road trip, getting to know Ireland’s richest eco-system and enjoying excellent accommodation in Tulfarris Hotel which stands out from the crowd for our American guests.
Our location in the heart of the wilds of Wicklow makes us ideal to get back to nature while enjoying a 4-star luxury. Our hotel lies on the banks of the Blessington Lakes, a beautiful place to explore on foot, by bike or to enjoy a picnic. We’re located 45 minutes’ drive from Dublin so you can make your way here after the customary visit to Temple Bar and the Guinness Storehouse in the city.
Golf Getaway in Ireland
Walk in the shoes of some of the world’s top golfers when you plan a golf getaway in Ireland. Many of our US guests come here especially to enjoy the greenest courses and most scenic views you could imagine. Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Resort offers a premium golfing experience on our Lakeland course with excellent accommodation in our hotel or manor house. We’re also very close to other popular courses in Wicklow, Dublin, Kildare, and Kilkenny.
European hotel rooms are notoriously small when compared to our US counterparts. What we lack in size, we certainly make up for in character, however! Tulfarris Hotel offers large guest bedrooms with all of the amenities and luxuries you would expect from a 4-star hotel anywhere in the world. It’s ideal if you’re not travelling light.
As well as small bedrooms European beds are generally smaller than in US Hotel rooms. We have a range of bed and bedroom sizes in Tulafrris Hotel ranging from smaller, single-occupancy rooms to large family-sized rooms with king-sized beds. You can choose the bed size that suits you when making your booking on our website.
If you’re travelling by car, especially if you’ve driven from Dublin city centre, you’ll know how difficult directions and parking are in Ireland. Driving is still the easiest and most convenient way to get around Ireland in your own time and explore gems off the beaten track. If you’re driving to Tulfarris, we offer complimentary parking on-site for the duration of your stay. You can leave your car and explore on foot or drive to explore a little further.
We rarely need to make use of cooling air conditioning in temperate Ireland, outside of the height of summer. You’re more likely to need a boost of heat or a way to keep the room temperature consistent. Each of our guest rooms is individually controlled with heating and cooling capabilities to ensure you are always comfortable with us. If you have any trouble our team are happy to help.
Ireland is renowned around the world for its cuisine. We produce some of the finest meat, vegetables and dairy and our produce is exported and in high demand all over the world. If you’re looking for a gourmet getaway in Ireland, Tulfarris is a great stop for your itinerary. Our restaurant focuses on locally sourced food and drink from trusted Irish suppliers, prepared to order and served with a smile.
Above all else, you’ll always find a Cead Mile Failte from our team in Tulfarris. We genuinely care about how well you enjoy your stay, whether you’re with us for one night or a month. Nothing is too much to ask and we’re always available to give directions, recommendations or to stop for a chat.
